Turkish motor vehicle output up seven percent in October

In October this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 156,303 units, rising by seven percent year on year and up 16.4 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first ten months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,380,175 units, up 17 percent year on year.

In October alone, passenger car output amounted to 102,404 units, increasing by four percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 53,899 units, up 13 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-October period of this year, passenger car output totaled 941,404 units, up 27 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 438,771 units, remaining stable, both compared to the same period of 2016.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 97 percent in October this year, while the rate was 86 percent in the January- October period of the year.
