Turkish motor vehicle output down 3.4 percent in Jan-Apr 2026

In April this year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 126,546 units, down by 1.7 percent year on year and down by 5.3 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD). In the January-April period of the year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 448,428 units, down by 3.4 percent year on year.

In the given month, passenger car output amounted to 68,912 units, down by 7.4 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 57,634 units, up 26.0 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-April period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 250,276 units, falling by 15.3 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 198,152 units, increasing by 17.3 percent, both compared to the same period of 2025.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 71.0 percent in April, while the rate was 63.0 percent for the first four months of the year.
