In March this year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 106,572 units, down by 14.1 percent year on year and by 8.1 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD). In the January-March period of the year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 321,856 units, down by 6.5 percent year on year.
In the given month, passenger car output amounted to 60,541 units, down by 23.8 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 46,031 units, up three percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-March period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 181,364 units, falling by 17.9 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 140,492 units, increasing by 14.0 percent, both compared to the same period of 2025.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 59.9 percent in March, while the rate was 60.3 percent for the first three months of the year.
