Turkish motor vehicle output up 32 percent in October

In October this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 132,959 units, rising by 32 percent year on year and up 14.1 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-October period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1.1 million units, up 18 percent year on year.
 
In October alone, passenger car output amounted to 77,243 units, increasing by 25 percent, while commercial car output totaled 55,716 units, up by 43 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-October period, passenger car output totaled 643,467 units, up eight percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 463,334 units, rising by 35 percent, both compared to the January-October period of 2014.
 
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 94 percent in October this year, while the rate was 78 percent in the first ten months of the year.
