In March this year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 142,799 units, rising by 34 percent year on year and by 27.5 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD). In the January-March period of the year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 366,597 units, up by 21.1 percent year on year.
In the given month, passenger car output amounted to 87,577 units, moving up by 53.5 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 55,222 units, up 11.5 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-March period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 222,051 units, growing by 33.5 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 144,546 units, increasing by six percent, both compared to the same period of 2022.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 86.7 percent in March, while the rate was 74.3 percent for the first three months of the year.
