In April this year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 112,733 units, rising by 5.2 percent year on year and declining by 21.1 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD). In the January-April period of the year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 479,330 units, up by 16.9 percent year on year.
In the given month, passenger car output amounted to 73,637 units, moving up by 17.2 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 39,096 units, down 11.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-April period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 295,688 units, growing by 29.0 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 183,642 units, increasing by 1.6 percent, both compared to the same period of 2022.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 68.5 percent in April, while the rate was 72.9 percent for the first four months of the year.
