In February this year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 111,959 units, rising by six percent year on year and by 0.1 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD). In the January-February period of the year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 223,796 units, up by 14.1 percent year on year.
In the given month, passenger car output amounted to 63,751 units, moving up by 3.6 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 48,208 units, up 9.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-February period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 134,474 units, growing by 23.0 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 89,322 units, increasing by 2.8 percent, both compared to the same period of 2022.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 68.2 percent in February, while the rate was 68.1 percent for the first two months of the year.
