In June this year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 118,898 units, decreasing by 12.2 percent year on year and 13.2 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD). In the January-June period of the year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 735,231 units, up by 13.2 percent year on year.
In the given month, passenger car output amounted to 75,974 units, moving down by 12.3 percent year on year and 16.3 percent month on month, while commercial vehicle output totaled 42,924 units, down 12.1 percent year on year and 7.2 percent month on month. In the January-June period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 462,401 units, growing by 20.7 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 272,830 units, increasing by 2.4 percent, both compared to the same period of 2022.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 71.8 percent in June, while the rate was 74.4 percent for the first six months of the year.
