Turkish motor vehicle output up 13 percent in September

In September this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 134,247 units, rising by 13 percent year on year and up 87.8 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first nine months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,223,838 units, up 18 percent year on year.

In September alone, passenger car output amounted to 88,952 units, increasing by 13 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 45,295 units, up 14 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-September period of this year, passenger car output totaled 838,976 units, up 31 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 384,862 units, down two percent, both compared to the same period of 2016.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 84 percent in September this year, while the rate was 84 percent in the January- September period of the year.
