In September this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 116,535 units, remaining unchanged year on year and up 51.4 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-September period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 973,842 units, up 17 percent year on year.
In September alone, passenger car output amounted to 66,572 units, decreasing by eight percent, while commercial car output totaled 49,963 units, up by 13 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-September period, passenger car output totaled 566,224 units, up seven percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 407,618 units, rising by 34 percent, both compared to the January-September period of 2014.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 83 percent in September this year, while the rate was 77 percent in the first nine months of the year.
