In September this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 132,931 units, decreasing by one percent year on year and up 181.8 percent month on month,, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-September period of the current year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,167,028 units, decreasing 4.6 percent year on year.
In September alone, passenger car output amounted to 86,395 units, falling by 2.9 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 46,536 units, up 2.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-September period of 2018, passenger car output totaled 769,464 units, down 8.3 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 397,564 units, up 3.3 percent, both compared to the same period of 2017.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 79.0 percent in September this year, while the rate was 78.2 percent in the January-September period of the year.
