Turkish motor vehicle output down 7.0 percent in 2024

In December last year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 123,586 units, up by 3.6 percent year on year and 5.3 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD). In 2024, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 1,365,296 units, down by seven percent year on year.

In December, passenger car output amounted to 82,152 units, up by 7.5 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 41,434 units, down 3.4 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In 2024, passenger car output totaled 904,513 units, falling by 5.1 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 460,783 units, decreasing by 10.7 percent, both compared to 2023.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 75.2 percent in December, while the rate was 70.1 percent in 2024.
