In December last year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 135,775 units, increasing by 10.3 percent year on year and down 0.1 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In 2019, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,461,244 units, down 5.7 percent year on year.
In December alone, passenger car output amounted to 94,991 units, rising by 15.5 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 40,784 units, down 0.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In 2019, passenger car output totaled 982,642 units, declining by 4.3 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 478,652 units, decreasing by 8.6 percent, both compared to 2018.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 79 percent in December last year, while the rate was 70.9 percent for the whole year.
