Turkish motor vehicle output down 21.2 percent in November

In November this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 128,875 units, decreasing by 21.2 percent year on year and down 1.8 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first 11 months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,427,157 units, down 7.5 percent year on year.

In November alone, passenger car output amounted to 85,666 units, falling by 19.6 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 43,209 units, down 24.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-November period of this year, passenger car output totaled 944,304 units, declining by 9.9 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 482,853 units, decreasing by 2.6 percent, both compared to the same period of 2017.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 76.6 percent in November this year, while the rate was 78 percent in the January-November period of the year.
