In October this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 131,231 units, falling by 16 percent year on year and down 1.3 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first ten months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,298,282 units, down 5.9 percent year on year.
In October alone, passenger car output amounted to 89,151 units, decreasing by 12.9 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 42,080 units, down 21.9 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-October period of this year, passenger car output totaled 858,638 units, declining by 8.8 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 439,644 units, rising by 0.2 percent, both compared to the same period of 2017.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 78 percent in October this year, while the rate was 78.1 percent in the January-October period of the year.
