Turkish motor vehicle output down 3.8 percent in January-June

In June this year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 100,162 units, down by 15.8 percent year on year and by 24.1 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (OSD). In the January-June period of the year, Turkey’s motor vehicle output totaled 707,067 units, down by 3.8 percent year on year.

In the given month, passenger car output amounted to 68,811 units, down by 9.4 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 31,351 units, down 27.0 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-June period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 460,743 units, decreasing by 0.4 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 246,324 units, decreasing by 9.7 percent, both compared to the same period of 2023.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 62.1 percent in June, while the rate was 72.9 percent for the first six months of the year.
