In June this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 131,194 units, decreasing by 7.1 percent year on year and down 11.5 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-June period of the current year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 843,193 units, decreasing three percent year on year.
In June alone, passenger car output amounted to 85,635 units, falling by 9.7 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 45,559 units, down 1.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-June period of 2018, passenger car output totaled 557,269 units, down 7.4 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 285,924 units, up 6.9 percent, both compared to the same period of 2017.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 78.8 percent in June this year, while the rate was 84.9 percent in the January-June period of the year.
