Toyota’s global vehicle output records fourth straight fall in May

Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation has announced that its global vehicle output decreased by 4.1 percent year on year to 812,191 units in May this year, marking the fourth consecutive decrease. In particular, the company’s domestic output rose by 2.8 percent to 255,314 units, while its overseas output in the given month went down by seven percent to 556,877 units, both year on year.

Toyota’s global vehicle sales amounted to 840,681 units in May, rising by 0.3 percent year on year.

In the January-May period this year, the company’s global vehicle output was down by 3.2 percent year on year to 3,852,979 units, while its global sales amounted to 4,039,177 units, almost stable on year-on-year basis.
