According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey rose by 75.9 percent month on month and by 95.7 percent year on year to 191,729 units.
New passenger car registrations in March totaled 76,351 units, increasing by 62.3 percent as compared to February and by 53.1 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 39.8 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in March amounted to 22,576 units, moving up by 54.0 percent month on month and by 70.8 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 11.8 percent of total new registrations in the given month.
