New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 77.2 percent in June

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 13.4 percent month on month and rose by 77.2 percent year on year to 193,688 units.

New passenger car registrations in June totaled 75,624 units, decreasing by 12.9 percent as compared to May and advancing by 74.7 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 39.1 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in May amounted to 16,311 units, down by 15.8 percent month on month and increasing by 75.9 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 8.4 percent of total new registrations in the given month.
