New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 63.8 percent in February

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey declined by 31.9 percent month on month and rose by 63.8 percent year on year to 109,019 units.

New passenger car registrations in February totaled 46,938 units, decreasing by 42.3 percent as compared to January and rising by 36.4 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 43.0 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in February amounted to 14,655 units, moving down by 41.1 percent month on month and up by 40.4 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 13.4 percent of total new registrations in the given month.
