New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 50.9 percent in April

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey declined by 6.4 percent month on month and rose by 50.9 percent year on year to 179,504 units.

New passenger car registrations in April totaled 67,712 units, decreasing by 11.3 percent as compared to March and advancing by 30.4 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 37.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in April amounted to 17,669 units, moving down by 21.7 percent month on month and growing by 31.1 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 9.8 percent of total new registrations in the given month.
