According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 1.64 percent year on year to 103,042 units and were down by 5.7 percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in December totaled 67,154 units, falling by 2.9 percent as compared to November and up 2.4 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 65.2 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in December decreased by 9.7 percent month on month and were up 9.8 percent year on year, amounting to 17,011 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.5 percent of total new registrations in December.
