New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 65.6% in October

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 65.6 percent year on year to 38,119 units and were down by 15.7 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in October totaled 18,546 units, falling by 11.6 percent as compared to September and down 71.5 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 48.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in October decreased by 16.5 percent month on month and were down 77.6 percent year on year, amounting to 4,278 units. Small truck registrations constituted 11.2 percent of total new registrations in October.
