According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey rose by 13.2 percent year on year to 63,536 units and were down by 5.3 percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in December totaled 41,777 units, decreasing by five percent as compared to November and up by 9.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 65.8 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in December declined by 3.3 percent month on month and were up 13 percent year on year, amounting to 7,803 units. Small truck registrations constituted 12.3 percent of total new registrations in December.
