New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 49.5% in Feb from Jan

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 4.6 percent year on year to 65,008 units and were down by 49.5 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in February this year totaled 38,180 units, decreasing by 54.9 percent as compared to January and down 2.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 58.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in February decreased by 60.1 percent month on month and were up 1.4 percent year on year, amounting to 11,474 units. Small truck registrations constituted 17.7 percent of total new registrations in February this year.
