According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 47.7 percent year on year to 45,235 units and were down by 29 percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in September totaled 20,969 units, falling by 43 percent as compared to August and down 54.1 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 46.4 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in September decreased by 24.3 percent month on month and were down 61.4 percent year on year, amounting to 5,122 units. Small truck registrations constituted 11.3 percent of total new registrations in September.
