New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 45.5% in December

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 45.5 percent year on year to 56,112 units and were down by 15.7 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in December totaled 38,112 units, falling by 14.7 percent as compared to November and decreasing by 43.2 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 67.9 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in December amounted to 6,905 units, down by 59.4 percent month on month and down 29.5 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 12.3 percent of total new registrations in December.
