According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 3.5 percent year on year to 62,719 units and were down by 46.6 percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in February totaled 36,788 units, falling by 50.2 percent as compared to January and down 3.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 58.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in February decreased by 60 percent month on month and were down 10.3 percent year on year, amounting to 10,295 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.4 percent of total new registrations in February.
