New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 3.5% in April from March

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 7.2 percent year on year to 99,260 units and were down by 3.5 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in April totaled 54,535 units, decreasing by 3.2 percent as compared to March and down 15.5 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 55 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in April decreased by 15.4 percent month on month and were up 10.1 percent year on year, amounting to 17,271 units. Small truck registrations constituted 17.4 percent of total new registrations in April.
