According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 32.7 percent year on year to 64,341 units and were down by 35.9 percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in June totaled 34,016 units, falling by 39 percent as compared to May and down 41.8 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 52.9 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in June decreased by 50.4 percent month on month and were down 38.1 percent year on year, amounting to 7,349 units. Small truck registrations constituted 11.4 percent of total new registrations in June.
