New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 26.1 percent in April

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 44.3 percent month on month and fell by 26.1 percent year on year to 40,171 units.

New passenger car registrations in April totaled 19,660 units, decreasing by 54.6 percent as compared to March and down by 34.3 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 48.9 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in April amounted to 4,441 units, falling by 54.1 percent month on month and declining by 28 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 11.1 percent of total new registrations in April.
