New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 24.6% in July

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 24.6 percent year on year to 96,562 units and were up by 50.1 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in July totaled 56,151 units, rising by 65.1 percent as compared to June and down 25.3 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 58.2 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in July increased by 71.3 percent month on month and were down 38.3 percent year on year, amounting to 12,588 units. Small truck registrations constituted 13 percent of total new registrations in July.
