New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 21.6% in Dec from Nov

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 19.3 percent year on year to 101,375 units and were down by 21.6 percent on month-on-month basis.
 
New passenger car registrations in December last year totaled 65,581 units, decreasing by 26.1 percent as compared to November and down 20.1 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 64.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
 
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in December decreased by 16.3 percent month on month and were down 27.3 percent year on year, amounting to 15,488 units. Small truck registrations constituted 15.3 percent of total new registrations in December last year.
