New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 19.8% in Sept from Aug

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 7.5 percent year on year to 86,497 units and were down by 19.8 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in September totaled  45,659 units, falling by 27.8 percent as compared to August and down 0.6 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 52.8 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in September decreased by 25.8 percent month on month and were down 7.1 percent year on year, amounting to 13,018 units. Small truck registrations constituted 15.1 percent of total new registrations in September.
