According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey decreased by 1.9 percent year on year to 97,388 units and were up by three percent on month-on-month basis.
New passenger car registrations in April totaled 55,144 units, falling by 0.5 percent as compared to March and up 1.1 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 56.6 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in April decreased by 11.3 percent month on month and were down 28.6 percent year on year, amounting to 12,338 units. Small truck registrations constituted 12.7 percent of total new registrations in April.
