New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey down 15.8% in August from July

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 12.8 percent year on year to 107,837 units and were down by 15.8 percent on month-on-month basis.

New passenger car registrations in August totaled 63,263 units, falling by 15.8 percent as compared to July and up 15.9 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 58.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in August decreased by 14 percent month on month and were up 11.6 percent year on year, amounting to 17,538 units. Small truck registrations constituted 16.3 percent of total new registrations in August.
