According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 15.5 percent month on month and rose by 93.9 percent year on year to 198,740 units.
New passenger car registrations in September totaled 73,684 units, decreasing by 17.8 percent as compared to August and rising by 85.0 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 47.7 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.
On the other hand, new small truck registrations in September amounted to 17,481 units, down by 27.0 percent month on month and up by 21.5 percent year on year. Small truck registrations constituted 8.8 percent of total new registrations in the given month.
