Automotive sales in Turkey up 63.1 percent in January-July

In July this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey rose by 115.4 percent year on year and by 0.9 percent month on month to 112,459 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey moved up by 109.4 percent year on year and fell by 4.4 percent month on month to 85,916 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 137.5 percent year on year and by 26.2 percent month on month to 26,543 units.

In the January-July period this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 63.1 percent year on year, amounting to 668,828 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country grew by 61.7 percent to 516,288 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 68.0 percent to 152,540 units, both on year-on-year basis.
