Automotive sales in Turkey up 55.2 percent in January-March

In March this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey rose by 61.7 percent year on year and by 28.1 percent month on month to 103,929 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey moved up by 57.9 percent year on year and by 34.5 percent month on month to 79,226 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 75.3 percent year on year and by 11.1 percent month on month to 24,703 units.

In the January-March period this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 55.2 percent year on year, amounting to 235,971 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country grew by 50.1 percent to 175,421 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 71.9 percent to 60,550 units, both on year-on-year basis.
