Automotive sales in Turkey up 50.4 percent in January-February

In February this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey rose by 63.4 percent year on year and by 59.4 percent month on month to 81,148 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey moved up by 56.5 percent year on year and by 58.0 percent month on month to 58,907 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 49.3 percent year on year and by 63.5 percent month on month to 22,241 units.

In the January-February period this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 50.4 percent year on year, amounting to 132,042 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country grew by 85.2 percent to 96,195 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 69.7 percent to 35,847 units, both on year-on-year basis.
