In March this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey went up by 15.9 percent month on month and down by 12.8 percent year on year to 101,997 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 13.0 percent year on year and increased by 14.4 percent month on month to 79,857 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 11.7 percent year on year and advanced by 21.2 percent month on month to 22,140 units.
In the January-March period of this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 3.9 percent year on year, amounting to 265,398 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country fell by 5.9 percent to 210,688 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles advanced by 4.2 percent to 54,710 units, both on year-on-year basis.
