In April this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey went up by 2.3 percent month on month and down by one percent year on year to 104,298 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 6.1 percent year on year and increased by 0.4 percent month on month to 80,182 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles advanced by 20.9 percent year on year and by 8.9 percent month on month to 24,116 units.
In the January-April period of this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 3.1 percent year on year, amounting to 369,696 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country fell by 5.9 percent to 290,870 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles advanced by 8.8 percent to 78,826 units, both on year-on-year basis.
