In September this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 5.6 percent year on year and were down by 1.6 percent month on month to 71,352 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 4.1 percent year on year and were down by 2.7 percent month on month to 53,423 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 10.3 percent year on year and were up by 1.6 percent month on month to 17,929 units.
Meanwhile, in the January- September period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 1.4 percent year on year, amounting to 627,343 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 2.6 percent to 476,621 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 2.4 percent to 150,722 units, both on year-on-year basis.
