SteelOrbis has learned that spot market prices for US domestic plate have firmed since our last report a week ago. Current prices are being heard at $53-$54 cwt. ($1,168-$1,191/mt or $1,060-$1,080/nt), FOB mill, against $47-$49 cwt. ($1,036-$1,080/mt or $940-$980/nt), FOB mill a week ago. The uptrend for US plate prices mimics similar upticks seen for other flat rolled steel products.
