US plate prices firm after most recent mill increase announcements

SteelOrbis has learned that US plate spot market prices have firmed in the past seven days, and are now trending at approximately $82-$83 cwt. ($1,807-$1,830/mt or $1,640-$1,660/nt), FOB mill, compared to an average price of $75 cwt. ($1,653/mt or $1,500/nt), FOB mill, on July 1.
