SteelOrbis has learned that the US domestic plate spot market price range has remained mostly steady since our last report on Friday, when the average price range was heard at $82-$83 cwt. ($1,807-$1,830/mt or $1,640-$1,660/nt), FOB mill. Today, however, some market players have reported they’ve received quotes as much as $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt) above that range, depending on tonnage.
