Last week, SteelOrbis reported that the average spot market price range for US domestic plate was still being heard at $31-$32 cwt. ($683-$705/mt or $620-$640/nt), ex-mill.

This week, prices have come down by approximately $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt), to $30-$31 cwt. ($661-$683/mt or $600-$620/nt), ex-mill. However, fabricator sources in Texas have indicated that one mill has offered plate at $30 cwt. ($661$/m or $600/nt), delivered.

Plate sources have said that downtrending oil prices have been the primary driving force between downward pressure on plate prices.
