Nucor’s plate mill announces $40/nt price increase

SteelOrbis sources have confirmed that while the most commonly heard spot market price for US domestic plate are still trending at approximately $76.50 cwt. ($1,687/mt or $1,530/nt), that pricing could soon change.

Earlier today, Nucor announced that it will be raising prices for all spot market orders by $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt) effective with all new orders.

As of the time of publication, other plate mills have yet to announce increases of their own.
