According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 38,747 mt in January this year, up 65.3 percent month on month and up 7.6 percent year on year. By value, exports of plates in coil totaled $42.95 million in January this year, compared to $25.43 million in the previous month and $34.6 million the same month of 2025.
The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in January this year with 29,412 mt, compared to 19,278 mt in December and 25,671 mt in January 2025. The other top destination was Canada with 8,524 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US exports of plates in coil in January.
